Hannibal Travis is a lawyer admitted to practice in the State of New York, a teacher of law, and an author of legal publications. He is the editor of Cyberspace Law: Censorship and Regulation of the Internet (Routledge, 2013) and has taught at Florida International University, The University of Florida, and Villanova University. His writing includes book chapters on copyright law, freedom of expression, privacy law, telecommunications law, antitrust law, and human rights law. He clerked at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and was an associate at O’Melveny & Myers and Debevoise & Plimpton. A Thomson Reuters publication selected three of his articles on software and internet law among the best articles relating to intellectual property law published in their respective years of release. His peer-reviewed articles have appeared in journals published by the Copyright Society of the USA, Cambridge University Press and the University of Toronto Press and similar publications. He has also served as an expert witness in a copyright and moral rights arbitration and quoted as an authority on legal matters by the Associated Press, Politifact, and The Hill’s Congress blog. His shorter works have appeared in The Conversation, The Miami Herald, the ABA Preview of Supreme Court Cases, Prawfsblawg and numerous other media.
