Blake Hunter Yagman is a dynamic class action litigator, with nearly a decade in experience throughout his young legal career and roles in hundreds of antitrust, consumer fraud, data privacy and data breach cases prosecuted around the country in both state and federal courts.
Mr. Yagman has a penchant for litigating bet-the-company cases. Mr. Yagman has done so at some of the top plaintiffs-side class action law firms in the country, including one of the largest plaintiffs’ class action firms in the world as well as at an elite litigation boutique headquartered in New York City. Recognized by a national trial lawyers association as a national 40 under 40 award winner for civil litigation, Mr. Yagman has been an integral part of dozens of teams that have settled hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of class action cases.
Throughout his career, Mr. Yagman has challenged corporate malfeasance in a variety of roles in the privacy context. See, e.g., Gerber v. Twitter, Inc., et al., Case No. 4:23-cv-00186 (N.D. Cal. 2023) (part of co-lead counsel team that defeated a motion to dismiss on behalf victims of a 200+ million user data breach); Boone, et al. v. Snap Inc., Case No. 2022LA000708 (18th Judicial Circuit, Dupage County, Illinois 2022) (part of co-lead counsel team that litigated biometric privacy case on behalf of social media users in Illinois which settled for $35,000,000); Veiga, et al. v. Respondus, Inc., Case No. 2023LA000430 (18th Judicial Circuit, Dupage County, Illinois, 2023) (led a team that defeated motion to dismiss, motion to compel arbitration in biometric privacy case on behalf of college students in Illinois which settled for $6,250,000); Doe v. GoodRx Holdings, Inc., et. al, Case No. 3:23-cv-00501 (N.D. Cal. 2023) (appointed to executive committee, $25 million settlement (approval pending) on behalf of consumers).
Mr. Yagman’s class action experience includes intensive experience in antitrust and consumer fraud cases as well. See, e.g., In re American Airlines/JetBlue Antitrust Litigation, Case No. 1:22-cv-07374-AMD-TAM (E.D.N.Y. 2022) (part of a team appointed co-lead interim class counsel and defeated motion to dismiss and motion to strike on behalf of all purchasers of American Airlines or JetBlue airline tickets from four major airports in an on-going antitrust class action); Ajzenman, et al. v. Office of the Commissioner of Baseball, et al., Case No. 2:20-cv-03643 (C.D. Cal. 2020) (helped lead a team in a class action case where $1.2 billion in consumer ticket refunds were issued to millions of baseball fans during the 2020 COVID-19 affected baseball season after case was filed).
Mr. Yagman has a Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law with a concentration in Intellectual Property and Data Law. Mr. Yagman is part of the oldest LGBTQIA+ organization in New York City and has lectured on class action issues at Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law and Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Currently, Mr. Yagman is earning his Regulatory & Antitrust Law Certification from Cornell University.
