Mr. Cohen is a partner at LBL and a graduate of Fordham University School of Law (J.D.) and the University of Wisconsin-Madison (B.S.), and previously worked under the Honorable Arthur M. Diamond, J.S.C. of the New York State Supreme Court Nassau County prior to joining LBL. Mr. Cohen is admitted to practice in the states of New York, New Jersey, California, and Florida, along with many federal courts, and has served as lead counsel for LBL on no fewer than 50 cases that have settled on a class wide basis over the last several years. Mr. Cohen has been recognized for his experience in Ramlochan v. Westchester Shores Event Holdings, Inc., Index No. 53509/2018 (Sup. Ct. Westchester Cty. Jan. 25, 2021) (in approving award of attorneys’ fees, court acknowledged “the significant award agreed upon here comports with the firm’s significant level of experiences and substantial work performed in the course of the litigation and the settlement process in this action”)

Notably, Mr. Cohen served as class counsel, along with Mr. Tompkins, in Membrives v. HHC TRS FP Portfolio, 196 A.D.3d 560 (2d Dept. 2021), which articulated two new causes of action for tipped workers, before the action ultimately settled for $10,500,000 on behalf of catering and service workers at a prominent hotel in New York. Mr. Cohen has successfully litigated and resolved other class action cases pertaining to unpaid gratuities. See e.g., Padder v. Additionally, Mr. Cohen has served as lead counsel for various class action lawsuits for delinquent wage payments to workers who qualify as manual laborers under New Yor Labor Law, including, Garcia v. Adidas America, Inc., Index No. 617444/2022 (Sup. Ct. Nassau Cty. Jan. 25, 2024)(Doc. 13)(approving class settlement of $3 million on behalf of manual laborers); Butler v. Prior Experience

  • Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Cohen worked under Judge Arthur M. Diamond in the Nassau County Supreme Court. During law school, he interned at the Office of the Nassau County Attorney and subsequently worked as a law clerk at a personal injury firm in New York City.
